Cresco 1

Spread quickly and easily with our light weight, handheld spreader.
Handheld spreaders are sold in volume throughout the summer and winter markets. They are especially useful in the winter to offer quick and easy spreading of fine salt or ice melts to office entrances and other doorways. In the summer they are ideal for grass seed and fertilizer spreading on small areas. The Cresco 1 is a strong unit with an ergonomic handle and an inbuilt armrest. The hopper can be used to scoop directly out of a salt or fertilizer bag.

Cresco 5

A shoulder mounted spreader offering up to 9kg capacity and up to a 6 metre spread width.

The on-off mechanism on shoulder spreaders has historically been fiddly, the zip on the bags vulnerable and the gearboxes weak.

The new enhanced Cresco 5 gearbox, a simple on-off mechanism with easy to lock in settings and a strong 9kg weight bearing bag provides superior reliability and strength. Most importantly of all our improvements is the gearbox – the new Cresco 5 is built for smooth running and longevity.

Spreader Calibration Analysis

If you’ve ever manually calibrated a spreader, then you know it’s a challenging task. With Cresco’s Calibration Centre, we’ve done a lot of the hard work for you.

Whether you’re spreading salt of fertilizer, it’s important you spread the right amount of product across a given area, but this isn’t always simple. As fertilizers and salts vary greatly in size, weight, and shape, they all spread differently, meaning your spreader settings need to be set for the specific product you’re using.

Normally, this means lost time as you trial different settings trying to find the right one for your product. However, we’ve made it our mission to simplify spreaders, and to help us do this, we’ve designed our very own testing system. This means we can quickly test the best settings for the products you’re using and share them with you in our data vault.

Why is Spreader Calibration Important?

Fertilizer spreading is all about precision, and to help you achieve this, we developed slide System Technology.

While this technology gives you greater control over how much and how accurately you spread fertilizer, a vital link was still missing. How do you know exactly how much fertilizer you’re spreading in order to adjust your output accordingly? If you just use visual cues to gauge your output, then you risk spreading too much fertilizer and killing your grass, or too little product, meaning your spreading is ineffective. One option you’ve got is to run a series of tests, measuring how much fertilizer you spread over a certain area, but this can be extremely hard to judge, and can only lead to an estimate.

Calibration needs to be done in a controlled setting in order to get the best results and to make sure this happens, we’ve invested in our testing capabilities, so you don’t have to worry about trial and error.

Why Cresco?

Although Cresco is new, we have been working within the industry for a long time.

Our company, DMMP was an importer of a well established brand of spreaders for over 20 years and before that we designed and manufactured professional line spraying equipment. Back track further and our company sold animal feed and fertiliser. In essence, we’ve been around the block!

With the tumultuous nature of the global economy over the past five years, it became increasingly difficult to supply the European market with a spreader range that hit the right price point. We knew the industry was crying out for a manufacturer with a versatile chain of logistics that can supply all customer with a quality product at the right price, no matter where they may be.

If there’s something we know about, it’s spreaders. We have been studying them, fixing them, selling them and using them for the best part of 4 decades. It might not be something we’d volunteer at a party but we sit at the forefront of knowledge with regards to professional pedestrian spreaders and we wanted to take a bet on some of our ideas.

In addition, the established suppliers seemed stuck in the mud – assembled boxed spreaders would be sent all around the world racking up a huge carbon footprint and the end customer was left fitting the bill for all that transport!

We wanted to establish a new chain of logistics, where the spreader was sent in raw materials around the world and only assembled in the country of the purchaser. By doing so, we keep our carbon footprint low and our costs low.

We partnered with a number of engineers to combine our knowledge with their experience and expertise in brining a product from idea to reality. In the process, we have revolutionised the way in which customers can adjust the spread pattern on their spreaders.

Instead of fiddly settings, or multiple hoppers, we have a simple to use slide system. In addition, we have created a custom built testing bed to test thousands of spreaders and fertilizers in order to offer the most accurate calibrations available.

Lastly we have taken what is the standard, basic agitation system on push spreaders and we have created an innovative spider system that improves flow and spreads difficult materials with ease.

Our brand is new to the game but we are not. We care about our imprint on this industry and we only expect the highest quality of spreaders.

Each raw material is individually quality checked before going out the door. It is then received by our depots before being assembled and quality checked again.

If a spreader sneaks through our rigorous checks, our 3 year warranty offer ensures our customers can expect their money back if the quality is not up to scratch.
